Ventec Life Systems and General Motors, in cooperation with StopTheSpread.org, the nation's coordinated private sector response to the COVID-19, are collaborating to enable Ventec to increase production of its respiratory care products to support the growing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Across all manufacturers, there is a global backorder of critical care ventilators capable of supporting patients fighting COVID-19. The companies are adding thousands of units of new capacity with a significantly expanded supply chain capable of supporting high volume production.
Ventec and GM are working around the clock to meet the urgent need for more ventilators. General Motors will build VOCSN critical care ventilators at GM’s Kokomo, Indiana manufacturing facility with FDA-cleared ventilators scheduled to ship in April. This effort is in addition to Ventec taking aggressive steps to ramp up production at their manufacturing facility in Bothell, Washington.
As the manufacturer of the first and only Multi-Function Ventilator, Ventec Life Systems is committed to do whatever we can to support our partners, and stands ready to assist in the domestic and international response to COVID-19 (coronavirus). For patients battling this virus and for the respiratory therapists, doctors, nurses, and all medical professionals working tirelessly to prepare and respond, our team is committed to supporting you.
Our engineering team, clinical team, and clinical board have decades of experience leading the development of the conceptual framework to provide respiratory support during outbreaks of serious infectious diseases - specifically, the use of ventilators for mass casualty respiratory failure.
VOCSN V+Pro Emergency is a critical care ventilator and high flow therapy device that works for pediatric and adult patients. Together, Ventec and GM will build tens of thousands of VOCSN V+Pro Emergency critical care ventilators for the National Strategic Stockpile in 2020.
